Tom Bain, Drummer and Vocalist

Tom Bain is a familiar name and face among professional musicians in the Pacific NW. Graduate of a distinguished conservatory, Tom has played with some major international acts. Adept at drumming in any style and tempo, Tom is also a highly accomplished sound engineer. Tom takes a share of the vocals in The Blue Skies, and is fundamental to the band’s success.
Terry Carlisle, Guitar, Bass, and Vocalist

Terry Carlisle is a life-long musician who approaches the guitar with the quiet confidence of long experience. Involved in a variety of bands since he was a teenager, Terry doesn’t need to “overplay” to help express the blue soul of our music. Terry is a gifted vocalist, and shares vocals with the other blues guys in The Blue Skies.
Don Chappell, bass, guitar, and vocalist

Don Chappell is active in a few regional bands, and plays bass with The Blue Skies. Don switches to guitar when he sings, and some of his songs are originals. As one of the two main components of the rhythm section, Don reliably helps lay down a dynamic beat that gets the audience up on their feet and dancing.
Chuck Gould, piano, organ, and vocalist

Chuck began playing “classic rock” back when it was called “top 40”. He’s learned more than a few tricks in sixty years of entertaining. He keeps the rhythm interesting with the piano, and lays down mean organ licks when a number calls for an keyboard solos. Chuck takes a share of vocals in The Blue Skies. Chuck hosts one of the biggest weekly open mics in Seattle, and competed in the 2025 regional blues challenge.
James Middlefield, Harmonica and Vocalist

James Middlefield is instrumental in painting our music blue. His accomplished command of the harmonica, honed with more than 30 years experience,contributes an important, soulful, character to virtually everything played by The Blue Skies.James is also an excellent vocalist, and sings about one-fifth of the songs in each show.
